Platteklip Gorge – The Classic Route to the Summit Description: > Platteklip Gorge is the most direct hiking route to the top of Table Mountain. It follows a steep, well-maintained trail up a deep ravine on the mountain’s front face. While it is the quickest way to the summit, it is also one of the most physically demanding due to its relentless incline. As you ascend, Cape Town unfolds beneath you, with the city, ocean, and distant peaks creating a spectacular panorama. Reaching the top, you’re rewarded with sweeping vistas of the Atlantic, Lion’s Head, and the iconic Table Mountain plateau.
